Today Vinyl Records are making a comeback. Yes, you can buy a new USB interface turntable, but they are not as nice as most of the older top of the line Turntables made at the peak of the record industry. Most turntables use either drive belts or rubber based drive wheels. What happens over the years is the belts break, the rubber on the drive wheels gets hard, and the lubricant grease dries up. All of these problems are can be remedied. In many cases it is just replace the drive mechanism and re-lube. In others, the entire mechanism needs to be disassembled so it can be properly cleaned and lubricated.
